Waste Awareness Programme held in Thaa Atoll

Environment Research Centre has conducted community mobilization programme in relation with Waste Management, in Thaa atoll from 22nd to 26th March, 2008. Four communities (Madifushi, Omadhoo, Burunee and Vilufushi community living in Burunee) took part in the programme.
Waste management is one of the most pressing environmental issues in the Maldives. In response to this issue the Government of the Maldives, with the support of international donors, is developing a range of policies and strategies for improved waste management in the Maldives. [ Read More ]
